Ferdinand of Austria is a recurring character in the fourth season of Reign. He is portrayed by Steve Byers.
Ferdinand is the archduke of Austria and, by extension, would have been the new king consort of England had Elizabeth I gone ahead with their marriage.

In A Better Man, Ferdinand attends Elizabeth's birthday party and unlike most of the suitors there, he sparks Elizabeth's attention and they are seen conversing and laughing together.
Personality[]
Ferdinand is honest, but isn't above using tricks in the name of revealing people's true intentions. For example, he tricked Elizabeth into sleeping with him in order to show her how happy they could be.
Physical Appearance[]
Ferdinand has blond curly hair which is somewhat reminiscent of Francis'. He has dark blue eyes, a slender nose, and a neatly shaved stubble.
