Event

The Joust takes place as France celebrates that their King has finally taken England and Francis led the defeat of the English at Calais 

Background 

In "Slaughter of Innocence" the Joust is to celebrate that France has defeated the English at Calais, and taken over the throne of England as Mary Tudor is dying. Queen Mary shows up at the Joust wearing to coat of arms of England along with the English Crest in order to declare herself Queen of England. King Henry is plotting to murder his son Francis and marry his daughter in law Mary so that they can take England together as Henry feels that Francis won't be a good conqurer of England. 

Mary's arrival at the joust puts the crowd in a uproar, and Henry decides to get in on the action to put the attention back on him. Unaware that the opponet facing him is his own son Francis; the Joust between the two men takes place, and eventually Francis  puts his lance right through Henry's face shield and into his eye. Queen Catherine is horrified and she and Mary watch as Henry is carried off to the castle to be treated.
